This has to be my favorite time of the year. I look forward to the sun shining and warmer temperatures after a long winter. When Spring arrives I can not wait to get outside, take a stroll and explore. The great thing about being in Tunica is that I don't have to go far to take a Spring stroll and if strolling is not your thing we even have a bike trail. Here are a couple of my favorite places to visit -Tunica Main Street Historic Walking Tour Spend an afternoon in historic downtown Tunica and learn about the history of this Mississippi Delta town. Start at the Tunica Main Street office and pick up a brochure that will guide you down the streets of town to markers that will give you an in depth history of the buildings and people in Tunica. Don't worry if you need a break you can always stop by Jeffcoat's Deli and grab yourself a sweet tea and relax in Rivergate park or at the Veteran's Memorial.
Tunica RiverPark Eco-Trail The Eco-Trail is located at the Tunica RiverPark that sits along the banks of the Mississippi River. The trail is nearly two miles long and curves through the forest. Along the trail you never know what you will see. The forest is abundant in wildlife such as deer, fox, turtles — and even snakes. Four-legged friends are also invited to join you on the trail as long as they are leashed. View the Eco-Trail on a video from Tunica TV. For park hours or more information visit the the Tunica RiverPark's website or call 866-51RIVER (866-517-4837).
Tunica Museum Walking Trail
After exploring the Tunica Museum, head outside to their boarded walking path through the woods. It is a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a beautiful spring day.
Tunica Bike Trail The trail is a 13-mile loop that begins in historic downtown Tunica and leads you through the Delta to Mhoon Landing on the Mississippi River and back to town. Pack a lunch, grab the bikes and peddle out to Mhoon Landing where you can watch the Mighty Mississippi while enjoying a picnic. Then hop back on your bike and head back to town. Sounds like a perfect afternoon to me. You can't go wrong with any one of these options. So put on you're best pair of walking shoes and get outside and enjoy the awesome weather and the outdoors of the Mississippi Delta.
