There are a lot of wannabe Country singers out there, but Brian Keith Morrison is the real deal. A resident of Dexter, Missouri, Keith has the voice, the songs, and the stage presence to compete with any major male country artist on the charts. Keith is not only a talented song writer and vocalist, but he and his band are constantly out performing and wowing the crowds with their Country Rock music and energy.
With a father who played drums for a 50’s and 60’s cover band, Keith learned to play the drums at age 12, took Band in the 8th grade, played snare drums then triple toms in the 9th grade, and played a trap set in his high school band. At age 14, Keith began playing in his Dad’s band as occasion would permit, still surprising his family and doctors who said that Keith would probably be a slow learner. But with sports and music, Keith continued to excel.
Soon the Morrison’s moved to Selmer, TN where Keith played for a few bands and landed a regular gig with “Southern Style” as both a drummer and lead singer, performing a few nights each week. He became one of the most well-known and popular drummer/singers in the area. He was recruited with another country band “Steel Country”, playing drums and singing covers during the other half of the week. The songs he covered ranged from George Strait to Lynyrd Skynyrd. People wanted to see Keith out front, so they found another drummer and Keith became the front man for “Steel Country”, selling out shows and becoming the hottest band in Northern Mississippi. The band opened for many big acts including Hank Jr., Jerry Lee Lewis, and performed at the Alabama Music Hall of Fame with Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Keith’s band released a single in Japan and the UK which received favorable reviews. He made the national finals on the latest Nashville Star competition and that gave Keith the determination to make it as a country artist. Keith began making trips to music city, co-writing with many of Nashville’s successful song writers including Marty Brown (“I’m From The Country”, Tracy Byrd), Sarah Majors (cuts with Trisha Yearwood), Karen Staley (“I’m Goin’ To Vegas” and “Take Me As I Am”, Faith Hill, “Keeper Of The Stars, Tracy Byrd, “”A Face In The Crowd”, Michael Martin Murphy, “Every Time I Cry”, Teri Clark), Corey Barker (songs cut by Daryl Singletary, Rebecca Lynn Howard, T G Sheppard, Cletus Judd, and Johnny Lee), Jon Conley, CJ Watson, Dave Tough, and David Harper (a composer with credits in television and film for ABC, NBC, CBS, and HBO).
Show starts at 9pm.
